An image on Apple Maps of Lake Loch Ness has an image which some are saying could be the Loch Ness monster. The image, which is low resolution, depicts a large light-colored form which appears to have a long neck and flippers. The image has brought a slew of media attention, with some discounting it as a hoax or trick of the light, and others saying that it is a boat wake or other easily explainable form that is difficult to make out because of the quality of photograph.
Enthusiasts versus Skeptics
While enthusiasts have stood behind the photograph saying that it is undeniable proof that “Nessie” exists, skeptics quip that the photograph is just another thing for “Nessie” chasers to latch onto. Sighting of the Loch Ness monster have been reported for about 1500 years now, but many have proven to be hoaxes or sightings of other objects that simply fit the profile for the Loch Ness monster.
One skeptic took to twitter with photographs of the ship Jacobite Queen that look remarkably similar to the Apple Maps image. Many believed the photograph to be irrefutable evidence that the Apple Maps image was indeed a ship at low resolution and not a prehistoric creature.
While the image may not be the proof that Loch Ness monster enthusiasts have been searching for, many are optimistic that the Loch Ness monster exists and that proof will be attained someday. What do you think? Does the Loch Ness monster exist or is it pure fabrication?
