Since 1947, people have come from miles around to experience the wonder of Carl Bozenski’s Christmas Village in Torrington, Connecticut. The wait is guaranteed to be long-the line usually takes about an hour and a half to two hours-but admission is free and the memories will last a lifetime. Traditionally cold in Connecticut during December, those in line are welcome to sip on the complimentary hot chocolate.

Visiting with Santa

Once inside, children are immediately ushered in to meet Santa Claus. Sitting on a large throne in front of a massive Christmas tree, with a roaring fire in the room, the experience is far more authentic than any department store or mall can offer. Children not only get to tell Santa what they want, they are also given a small toy to take home with them. Children are wide-eyed and amazed by that time.

Mrs. Claus makes the rounds, speaking with children and parents and welcoming all to their home. There is a desk in Mrs. Claus’ room where thousands of children’s letters are answered by Santa and Mrs. Claus each year.  You are invited to walk through a few different rooms in which presents pile up and elves work diligently. Once outside, you can visit the reindeer! Kept in labeled cages, children and parents alike can delight in visiting Santa’s reindeer. The outside courtyard is also beautifully kept, with Santa’s sleigh and many other terrific picture opportunities. Carl Bozenski’s Christmas Village is truly a magical Christmas experience.
